Metal theft has been on the increase for a while and now a concerted effort has been made to stop it.

Police are taking part in Operation Tornado - a national initiative aimed at making it easier to trace sellers of stolen metal and dealers who operate illegal businesses.

The move follows a huge increase in the theft of metal - mainly lead from buildings - in Sussex over the past three years.
