County Times Community Awards’ nomination deadline approaching

The closing date for nominations, which can be submitted online or through the paper, is Monday (October 20).

Shortlisted nominees will be invited to the awards ceremony at the Capitol on Tuesday November 18. Winners will receive trophies and framed certificates and the full story and photographs will appear in the County Times.

Outstanding Teacher - A teacher or teaching assistant that inspires pupils in the classroom

Friend of the Environment - Someone who has helped to make the Horsham district a more eco-friendly place

Best Community Organisation - Which group’s dedication to the community makes them worthy of this award?

999 Award - Who deserves credit for a life-saving act?

Health Worker Award - A health worker that goes above and beyond the call of duty for their patients

Best Fundraiser - It’s not about who has raised the most, but instead invested all their passion and drive into raising as much as they can for a cause they truly believe in

Charity of the Year - A charity that deserves to be highlighted for the amazing local work it provides

Good Sport - Individuals or teams, from dance to wrestling, who is quite simply a good sport?

Care for Animals - An award celebrating those who dedicate themselves to helping animals

Best Neighbour - Some neighbours are indispensable, and this award looks for those inspiring people

Volunteer of the Year - The district is teeming with volunteers who make their community a better place, but who has the best story to tell?

Best Volunteer Group - Which group is stronger in number and provides a unique, necessary or helpful service?

Public Service Award - An exemplary person or group whose service to the public is second to none

Local Hero - An individual who has performed an amazing or heroic act or series of acts without being asked

Special Recognition - Dedicated to someone who deserves recognition for their actions or role

West Sussex County Times Achievement - An award from this newspaper celebrating an outstanding achievement within the community.
