COUNTY NEWS: David Gest dies aged 62

The BBC report that a statement was released on Tuesday afternoon (April 12) confirming the showbiz icon had died.

He recently visited Eastbourne ahead of a musical production at the Congress Theatre.

The reality show star, who had appeared in I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here and had been married to Liza Minnelli, was expected to visit the town on July 16.

Mr Gest had recently met with press at The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne, where he reminisced over his incredible career working with several world class talents, including his best friend Michael Jackson.

He is believed to have passed away at the Four Seasons hotel in Canary Wharf, London.
