Three county causes have received financial backing from the Joint Downland County Local Committee.
The committee agreed to distribute a total of £3,520 from its Community Initiative Fund to the following projects:
£1,050 for Chestnut Tree House towards the purchase of replacement bed linen. The Angmering hospice cares for children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses from across Sussex.
£1,570 for Arundel Community Partnership Ltd towards the purchase of waterproof chairs and gazebos for community events.
£900 for Slindon Sports Association towards improvements and repairs to the pavilion and sports fields.
Chairman of the Joint Downland County Local Committee, Nigel Peters, said: “We recognised the value each of these projects will have to the people they help.
“Once again, the committee would like to encourage other organisations running projects that benefit our local community to take a closer look at the funding we can offer.”
