A Horsham hair salon has raised £310 for a local school following a charity raffle that originally featured a counterfeit Burberry teddy bear.

Mayfair Hair in East Street received the teddy bear as a donation, but it was seized by the fashion company - though it was later replaced by a genuine Burberry bear, as reported by the County Times last month.

The raffle of the replacement toy raised funds for the Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee School, which caters for up to 70 pupils with learning difficulties and disabilities.

The £310 included a ‘secret donation’ of £100, said salon owner Kay Tyler.

She added: “We want to thank everybody who has bought a ticket.”

The winner of the teddy bear was Di Verrell.
