Controversial development on the cards
A CONTROVERSIAL £200m plan to develop Haywards Heath has moved closer after Mid Sussex District Council's cabinet agreed last week to enter into a formal agreement with developers Thornfield Properties.
It agreed to go ahead with the plans, which are based around Haywards Heath station, despite a referendum in which 95 per cent of voters called for a rethink in the summer.
Plans include a new station buildinjg, new 1,000 space car park, new Clair Hall building and a new purpose-built Age Concern facility, convenience shopping, restaurants, cafes, modern offices and new homes.
