Colourful creation as Crawley sub-station gets a facelift

An electricity sub-station in Bewbush is now a bright and colourful local landmark thanks to children and young people from Bewbush Youth Club and professional artist, Julian Johnson.

Working over two days during half term, 28 young residents painted the walls of the sub-station in Dorsten Square with designs featuring sports, music and green spaces around the neighbourhood and also a bright red poppy referencing Remembrance Sunday.

They were supported by Mitie Crawley Repairs Team and DSM Building and Decorating, who donated their skills to re-rendering the sub-station walls with materials donated by Buildbase Crawley.

“I am delighted that the young residents of Bewbush were able to show off their creativity and bring some colour into the neighbourhood.”
