Christ’s Hospital holding mock emergency response test

Christ’s Hospital is orchestrating a ‘meticulously planned’ exercise at their campus involving all three emergency services coming in and out of the school from 6.30pm today (September 23).

The school is holding a multi-agency exercise to test their emergency response plans and the interactions between the Critical Incident Management Team, all three emergency services, the county council and district council.

The school, emergency services and district and county councils are running the mock-up at the campus which local residents may notice as the response will involve a number of emergency vehicles entering and leaving the site throughout the evening.

“The event has been meticulously planned to ensure that the resources of the emergency services, in the event of a real emergency, will not be stretched and the role-play does not alarm pupils or disrupt their education,” said a spokesperson for Christ’s Hospital.

“The independent school has 870 pupils on site – it has more boarders living at the school 24-7 than any other school in the area and therefore it is in the interest of the pupils, staff and their families that their emergency response plans are tested by simulating this incident,” the spokesperson added.
