Children's winter wonderland to open in Worthing

A magical Winter Wonderland is set to come to The Guildbourne Centre in Worthing this month.

Thanks to Twinkle Twist Events, which is working with Guild Care, each child can experience the magical Christmas Grotto, meet Father Christmas and receive a gift. Entry is £10, from which a donation will be made to Guild Care.

Lily Banister-Weir, Guild Care’s event officer, said: “I am very excited about this wonderful opportunity to bring the magic of Christmas to Worthing and a big thankyou to Richard Baker and Brenda Sheppard from The Guildbourne Centre for enabling this. The lights, sparkles, moving reindeers will make this a truly magical experience! We really appreciate Twinkle Twists Events organising the grotto and a donation from the money paid at the grotto will go to Guild Care to help our charity support children with special needs, the elderly and people living with Dementia, ensuring everyone in Worthing has a magical Christmas.”

Sharon Clarke, the Worthing Town Centre manager, said: “A quality grotto in the Town Centre will not only put a smile on a lot of Children’s faces but will bring families into Worthing. The High street is competing against On-line and Out of Town shopping at this important trading time so having such a great reason to visit will encourage people into Worthing businesses.”

Santa’s Grotto will be open December 2, 3, 4, 9, 10 and 11, and then December 15 to 23. Phone 01903 776631 for more details.

The Mayor Councillor Sean McDonald and Worthing’s Town Crier Bob Smytherman will be officially opening the Magical Winter Wonderland on December 2 at 10am.
