The mathematics enthusiast will base the talk on his new book, The Simpsons and their Mathematical Secrets, in which he highlights mathematical references in the cartoon.

Speaking to the County Times ahead of the event, Mr Singh said: “I love mathematics, I think mathematics is fantastic and I hope that the book gets other people interested in mathematics if they are not already.

“The talk and book are aimed at people who are curious, that’s all I really ask for, a bit of curiosity about the world around them.”

He added: “I encourage people, if they’ve had a bad experience with maths to try and revisit it, but if they’d rather not then that’s okay too, there are lots of amazing and wonderful things in the universe, natural and man-made, we can read about and have fun with.”

The talk will take place on Monday November 18 and is hosted by Horsham Skeptics in the Pub.
