Cancer survivors to walk first lap of fundraising relay weekend
Relay For Life, held on behalf of Cancer Research UK, will take place at Christ’s Hospital School from Saturday, June 1, at noon until noon on Sunday, June 2.

Hide Ad“They’re cheered on by family, friends and Relay participants from the community who have come together to celebrate their achievements.”
Team members will be taking it in turns to walk around a track for 24 hours, while one and all are welcome to come along and soak up the festival fete atmosphere taking place around the circuit.”
The weekend will be packed with live entertainment, kids’ workshops, stalls and various activities.
There will be a circus skills workshop and flag football for the more adventurous youngsters, dance troupes, rugby, tug o’ war and martial arts acts plus live acoustic sets, choirs and bands.

Hide AdPeach Entertainments will help host the event and there will be plenty of food and refreshments including a hog roast served by the 1st Shipley Scouts.
A Candle of Hope ceremony will also be held as dusk falls in memory or in celebration of loved ones.
The event is open to the public from noon on Saturday until the end of the candle ceremony at around 9.30 pm and will re-opens to the public from 8.30am until noon on Sunday, 2nd June.
Entry and parking is free.
