This follows a reader letter which branded part of the area an 'eyesore' and a call from watchdog group the Horsham Society to 'put the pride back in Horsham'.

Andy Duffin, owner of A.D Cycles, said: "Queen Street is full of vibrant independent businesses like A.D Cycles and Angling Specialists.

"The closure of the Queen's Head pub prompted a drop in footfall so it's vitally important that Queen Street is not forgotten about."

Andy told how the area caters to hobbyists however there's limited parking for customers.

He added: "We are a destination store, people travel to see us and it's crucial that customers know we're here.

"The biggest problem for traders round here is there's not a lot of footfall.

"There's another car park behind the store but it's not well signed so people easily miss it, it would be great to see that improved."

James Hoare, of Bourns Court, is a customer of the shop.

He said:"It's a destination street and that's what it needs to be kept as. We need more of this type of street."
