Curry is one of the most popular dishes in the UK and there is even National Curry Week every October to celebrate the dish.

Apparently there are more than 9,000 curry houses in the UK and they contribute more than £5billion to the British economy.

So, it is not surprising that in 2001, Britain’s foreign secretary Robin Cook referred to the Chicken Tikka Masala as a ‘true British national dish’. Click here to read how to make another popular curry dish, saag aloo.

With this in mind we decided to look on TripAdvisor to see which curry houses in Worthing are the most popular among reviewers, rounding up the top 14 in the area.

Reviews ranged from one person claiming a Worthing curry house was the best restaurant in the town, to another who had dined at their favourite since 1985 and was still impressed by the high standards.

Many of the curry houses have won awards for their food, both on a local level and nationally. Click here to read how Shafiques in Goring won a national award for embracing new technologies.

While some reviews were negative and complained about slow service and delivery, on the whole reviewers on TripAdvisor were very complimentary about the Worthing establishments.
