Criminals are targeting shops and cafés in Warwick Street which has seen at least six burglaries in the past year.

The thieves are mostly focusing on new businesses, often choosing to strike on the day they open.

Caffe Latte was burgled last Tuesday night for the second time in six months.

Owner Bhavesh Luthra, 30, said: “I just feel so insecure.

“The first thing I look for now when I arrive in the morning is whether or not there has been a break-in.”

Caffe Latte was first burgled in December on the night after it opened, when intruders entered through an upstairs window and stole a laptop, an iPad, and £100 in cash from the till.

The thieves broke into the building from the roof, where they unplugged the CCTV system.
