Burger eating competition for charity

A SOUTHWICK take-a-way are challenging those brave enough to eat eight pounds of meat and a kilo of chips in a charity eating competition.

Pebbles take-a-way at Unit 5, Lady B Marina, Southwick are hosting a burger eating competition on Saturday, November 16 at 2pm and anyone hungry enough can enter.

The event is in aid of Children in Need and will donate all proceeds to the charity.

There will be many stalls selling cakes and other items, a big raffle and games.

Owner, Alan MacAndrew-Easen, said: “We always try and do as much for charity, as and when we can.

“But this year I wanted to do something really big and make as much from the event as possible.

“I’m using the pub downstairs, Pebbles on Port, to host the event so we will have plenty of space.”

So far five men have taken up the eight pound burger challenge but the competition is still open.
