Brighton Riders BMX is the largest retro BMX group on the south coast.

Owner Kevin Bentman said: “We are predominantly an old school BMX group which has ’80s and ’70s BMX bikes from back in the day – real crowd pleasers and very nostalgic.”

He hosted a social ride around Worthing last Sunday, started in South Street Square and taking in the skate park in Homefield Park, Splash Point, Worthing Pier and the beach.

The group ended their ride at The Vintners in Warwick Street, with a competition to judge the different classes of the bikes and give out trophies.

Kevin added: “All money raised will go to Brighton charity Off the Fence’s Antifreeze project, which raises money for the homeless.

“A colleague of ours ran the Brighton Marathon in aid of said charity and collectivly we raised £1,000, which is a phenomenal amount for this BMX club.

“We raised a lot of attention as we rode through Worthing, which helped to raise our profile and let local families know that as a group we are here.”

Kevin said: “We are fun and friendly, open to all ages and abilities and we are more than happy to help people get back into this great hobby of ours.”
