Blake's Cottage architect to meet Felpham residents

From 11am at Felpham Village Hall, Vicarage Road, people can meet and speak to Stuart Cade to hear about his plans for the historic cottage.

The Blake Cottage Trust owns the 17th century building where William Blake lived and penned the words which would later become the hymn Jeruselem.

Peter Johns, trustee of The Blake Cottage Trust, said: “As part of our commitment to keep people informed and encourage local involvement, we have distributed invitations to all the houses and businesses in the central part of the village and we are hoping for a good turnout.

“We have appointed Stuart Cade, of Rick Mather Architects, to take the lead in the task of restoring the cottage to the form it once was when William and Catherine lived there from 1800 to 1803 and help us create in Felpham a world-class centre for the study and enjoyment of William Blake’s art, poetry and prophecy.”

Mr Johns said among Mr Cade’s achievements was the restoration of the Oxford Ashmolean Museum.
