A SHOREHAM managing director shortlisted for an award has paid tribute to the staff who work under her.
Jill Whittaker, MD at apprenticeship provider HIT Training, has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Institute of Directors’ London and South East Director of the Year awards.

“I am very lucky to be working in the fast moving, dynamic and growing hospitality sector which I love, and to be recognised by fellow business people from a wide variety of industries is incredibly rewarding,” she said.
“Whilst I’m really chuffed to be a finalist, this wouldn’t be possible without the fantastic team of over 600 people that make up our fabulous little company.”
The awards this year attracted a record 400 nominations, recognising the best business leaders from across a wide range of industries. Jill has been shortlisted for businesses with an annual turnover of £10million to £99million.
HIT Training, based at Shoreham Airport, is the leading national provider of apprenticeships, training and work-based learning for the UK’s hospitality sector. It has more than 50 offices across the country and last year, more than half of all hospitality apprentices in England were trained by HIT.
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on April 22 at the Institute of Directors in Pall Mall, London, where the guest speaker will be broadcaster and journalist Jeremy Vine.
