A MAN has been charged with attempted murder after a Steyning man was left with serious knife wounds.
The 29-year-old victim was sitting in his car, parked on the Wantley Hill Estate, off London Road, Henfield, just before 6pm on Sunday when the assault took place.
Sussex Police said: “The victim sustained serious knife injuries to his left arm and left hand, for which he is still receiving treatment at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
“Police enquiries are continuing but the incident is not being treated as a ‘stranger’ attack.”
Kitchen worker Shane Elliott, 32, of Aurum Close, Horley, Surrey, has been charged with attempted murder.
He is due to appear in custody at Crawley Magistrates Court today.
