Arundel woman killed in A27 crash

Police have confirmed that the woman involved in a collision near Arundel earlier today has died.

Emergency services were called to the A27 outside Park Farm at 12.19pm today, Tuesday May 3.

A black VW Passat estate car had left the road and collided with a tree.

The driver, a 79-year-old woman from Arundel, was declared dead at the scene, police said in a statement.

The A27 has remained closed both ways since the fatal accident, with diversions in place.

Sergeant Rob Baldwin from the road policing unit said: “We are appealing to anyone who was driving in the area at the time and witnessed what happened to please get in touch.

“We are working to reopen the road as soon as possible and ask people to try and avoid the area.

Motorists are thanked for their patience.”
