Art lecture explores war links

LINKS between art and war across Europe will be explored in the next Steyning Decorative and Fine Arts Society lecture.

Daniel Snowman, lecturer, writer, broadcaster and tour leader, will be speaking at the Steyning Centre on Monday on Guerra! Guerra! Music, Art and War: 1800-2000.

He said art had often been stimulated by war, while music included upbeat anthems like the Marseillaise and the sadness of Nimrod every year at the Cenotaph.
