Adoption service open evening for National Adoption Week

West Sussex County Council adoption service is offering a chance to meet their adoption team, ask questions, and learn what it takes to become an adoptive parent.

The event is running as part of National Adoption Week, from Monday November 4 to 10, and is organised by the British Association for Adoption and Fostering.

It aims to encourage people to think about whether they could offer a child a permanent home.

Peter Evans, cabinet member for children – start of life, said: “Choosing to adopt a child and offer them a permanent home is a wonderful thing, but it is also a life-changing decision.

“I would encourage anyone who is considering adoption to come along to the open evening to find out more about the process and what’s involved.

“Adoption is open to more people than you might think and parents can come from all walks of life, regardless of their marital status, sexuality, or cultural background.”
