A27 talks with Minister

The problems of congestion and pollution on the A27 in West Sussex have been forcefully highlighted to the Roads Minister Dr Stephen Ladyman, and strong pressure put on him to take action.

West Sussex County Council's Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport, Lieut Col Tex Pemberton met the Minister on Wednesday last week and now hopes that the A27 is back on the agenda.

At the meeting he pushed for:

Progress on the A27 improvements for Chichester that were put out for public consultation more than 12 months ago.

A date for a similar consultation process over revised proposals for an A27 Arundel bypass that now meet previous Government concerns over the environment.
