Something a bit special

From an estate agency point of view it is refreshing to see a degree of imagination introduced when designing property.

Most contemporary developers employ battalions of architects to come up with the variety of ‘character’ designs, but it wasn’t always the case.

During the housing boom of the 1960s many of the larger companies relied on repetitive designs, dragged from one area to another, to use the words of the Pete Seeger song ‘Little boxes, little boxes, made out of ticky tacky and they all looked just the same’!

Fortunately, not every builder chose that route and in the case of this particular 1960s built house, they chose to replicate the ‘Georgian’ style and to allow a little more elbow room than some of the others built at the same time.

Just one such example is this three bedroom semi-detached house located in Mornington Crescent, Felpham.

Carefully modernised over the years, this house now combines the best of both worlds, with replacement Kitchen and Bathroom units, double glazing and gas fired central heating.

Add to this extended accommodation in the shape of a garden room and utility, plus cloakroom and the benefits become clearer still.

On the market with May’s of Felpham, the property offers modern living in a period style shell, and has an asking price of £295,000.

Not the largest garden, but one well stocked and easily managed, having proved plenty large enough for the current owners who have enjoyed the spacious accommodation and advantageous position.

Certainly a property the agent recommends, and one which requires internal inspection to bear out the agent’s claims.

With the local schools about a quarter of a mile away, as are village shops, plus the golf club at the end of Downview Road, this is a property with a wide range of potential purchasers – perhaps you are one of them!
