THIS photo is a bit of a mystery, which Goring man Frederick King is hoping to solve.
Mr King, 87, of Aldsworth Avenue, is desperate to trace information and, if nothing else, would like to know which regiment the man served in.
“All my mum ever said is ‘that is Albert’,” he said.
He believes it could be his father’s brother, as he knows his father, Charles John King, had three brothers but he has details on only two.
Charles, who was in the Middlesex Regiment, was born in Croydon in 1888 and died in Tower Hamlets in December 1925, a few months before Mr King was born.
One brother, George Fred, a Royal Marine, was born in 1887 and died on HMS Formidable, while another, Henry William, died on the Somme at the age of 19.
Their father, George King, died on July 9, 1882.
But who is Albert?
