Squire’s team members together with Crawley Borough Council planted ‘Tulip Tarda’ bulbs on Monday (November 12) on the banks of the A2220, opposite Squire’s and between Cheals and Broadfield roundabouts.

The variety of tulip has clusters of beautiful yellow and white fragrant star-shaped flowers and has won the RHS Award of Garden Merit.

The donation was made possible by Squire’s Love Where You Live campaign, where the garden centre pledged to donate ten bulbs for every bag of bulbs customers bought in September.

Sarah Squire, deputy chairman of Squire’s, said: “We have been overwhelmed by the response to our ‘Love Where You Live’ campaign, and we are very grateful for the support our family business receives from local people.

“It’s fantastic to be able to give something back to the communities where we are located.”

The campaign was such a phenomenal success that Squire’s are donating 230,000 bulbs to local parks, green spaces, schools, hospitals and charities across the South East.
