There was a significant increase over last year in the percentage of A*s achieved at GCSE. 62 per cent of all grades were at A/A*, with an overall A* to C pass rate of 96 per cent.

This excellent set of results bucks the national trend with exam boards reporting a decrease for the second year running in the top grades.

A special mention goes to the 13 girls who achieved straight A*/A grades – Amrita Ahluwalia, Eleanor Bell, Charlotte Butcher, Jessica Clarke, Bethany Dawson, Ellie Greer, Amy Hoare, Romina Hytten, Kate Jones, Katie Maguire, Isabelle Mills, Holly Williams and Isabella Zanin.

Louise Higson, headmistress, said: “We are delighted for all of our girls who have worked very hard indeed to achieve these outstanding results.”
