Agency discovers its own creative ‘spark’

An unusual addition has been made to a Billingshurst public relations firm as it welcomed its newest team member to its headquarters last month.

PMW Communications, an integrated marketing agency based in Stane Street, welcomed ‘Spark’ an eight foot wooden stag, which has taken up permanent residence in its courtyard.

The growing agency specialises in creative marketing solutions including PR, design and advertising.

It has also been shortlisted in the ‘Creative Agency’ category of the Gatwick Diamond Business Awards, with the winner to be announced on Thursday March 21.

Spark gained his name following a competition among staff to ‘Name the Stag’, with some of the unsuccessful suggestions including Stagosoraus Rex, Fenton, and Wayne-Deer.

A number of the names alluded to the fact that he could be misconstrued as a reindeer when he is most definitely a stag.

Peter Sutton, managing director of PMW Communications Ltd, said: “Spark is a fantastic new addition, looking remarkably at home in our courtyard.

“He has certainly got the team talking and there is definitely some magic surrounding him.

“Every company needs a mascot and I think Spark has become ours.”

As well as looking after its clients’ needs, PMW has invested significant time to several worthy causes, including Five Oaks-based Dame Vera Lynn Trust for Children with Cerebral Palsy.

Back in 2011 PMW launched Horsham 100 with Tanbridge House School to raise £100,00 for the trust.
