VIDEO: ‘Phenomenal’ reaction to Crates Local opening in Carfax

The duo behind a new local produce store in Horsham’s Carfax hailed a ‘phenomenal’ reaction to the shop’s opening at its official launch on Friday August 23.

PJ Aldred and Marion Carter, who run Horsham Markets on a Thursday and Saturday in the town centre, have launched Crates Local in the hope to showcase the best food and drink from the area in one place.

The name takes its inspiration from the apple crates on display in the store, which producers rent out to display their wares.

PJ said: “We have been blown away the reaction. The response from customers is just out of this world. It’s as though Horsham has been waiting for Crates Local to open.

“Customers have said ‘We have been waiting for this for years’ and ‘What a great idea’.”

She added: “People have just been so kind and encouraging right from the start.”
