Week of digital creativity and community at Chichester Festival Theatre

Spokeswoman Lucinda Morrison said: “Ageless Week is part of the theatre’s Ageless campaign, generously supported by Irwin Mitchell for a third year: a programme of work that provides life-changing experiences for people who might otherwise miss out and helps to enrich people’s lives with the joy of creative expression.

“Online activities range from a Little Notes music session for young children to a seminar about financial planning during a pandemic and a dementia friendly Mind Body Sing session. All the events are free but some require advance booking online; voluntary donations to the Ageless campaign are welcome.”

Events coming up include:

Monday, August 17. Dementia Friendly Training Session, 2pm on Zoom, free but booking essential. A Dementia Friends Information Session led by CFT’s senior community and outreach manager and trained dementia champion, Louise Rigglesford.

Tuesday, August 18. Experiences Of A British Sign Language Interpreter, 10am on Zoom, free but booking essential. Join British Sign Language interpreter Sarah Granger as she talks about her experience working in live theatre, how she prepares for a show and what her role entails as well as outlining some facts about BSL.

Wednesday, August 19. Mind, Body, Sing, 10am on Facebook, free, no booking required. Singing familiar and new songs will lift your spirits. Wednesday, August 19: Staying Financially Healthy In A Global Pandemic: Key Advice And Guidance From Irwin Mitchell, 2pm on Zoom, free but booking essential. Join law firm Irwin Mitchell for a 45-minute webinar on how you can protect your finances, plan for the future and stay financially safe.

Thursday, August 20. Little Notes, 10am on Facebook, free, no booking required. Blending new songs and classics, musicians lead families through a musical journey of discovery using musical games, songs and movement. Families welcome, especially suitable for four to six-year-olds. Join via CFT’s Facebook page.

Thursday, August 20: Legacy Giving: Guidance On Leaving A Planned Gift In Your Will, hosted by Irwin Mitchell, 2pm on Zoom, free but booking essential. Hosted by Irwin Mitchell, this 45-minute webinar offers an introduction to legacy giving, covering topics from how to leave a planned gift, types of planned giving, and the benefits of leaving a legacy. Delivered by Emily Wentworth. There will also be an opportunity to submit questions.

Friday, August 21: Video: Stand By You, from 11am on CFT’s website, free, no booking required. Stand By You was a project to raise the spirits of residents in local care homes and to connect them with the creative talents of Chichester Festival Youth Theatre. A short film documenting and celebrating the process of the ten-week project, led by community trainee Ella Bassett as part of her Gold Arts Award, will be released on the CFT website at 11am on August 21.

Friday, August 21: Louise Hosts Instagram Live, 3pm on Instagram, free, no booking required. Join CFT’s senior community and outreach manager, Louise Rigglesford, on Instagram Live as she discusses the projects and schemes supported by Ageless donations – including the CFT Buddies scheme – and how they have been impacted by the COVID-19 lockdown.
