Nature

WE have walked on the moonRockets soared in spaceTechnical brilliance that man has displayedBut we can't capture the wind or hold back the tideAnd only marvel at the way a bird's wing is made.

The birth of the snowdrop

When winter is done

The petals of roses

And the tall poplar trees

Frosted cobwebs glistening on a cold winter's day

Sunbeams and snowflakes

We can't create these.

Vermillion sunset ending a long summer day

The chaning of the seasons

That only nature has planned

The innocence in the eyes of a child

And the intricate pattern in the palm of a hand.

We can never fathom the forces unknown

Or the way nature creates mountains and seashores

The impotent fury of a storm at its height

Just watch and be glad of the mystery

And hush at the beginning of day

And the magic hour just before light
