Latest film releases - November 7

You may think that there is only one film being released this week - Interstellar.

Well, as far as the publicity goes, it would certainly seem so, but there are other films taking their chance.

But first let’s deal with what will certainly be the biggest movie this year and possibly in recent years.

Interstellar has been cloaked in secrecy and I still only have a vague idea of the full storyline.

Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain are just three of the impressive cast.

The plot sees a group of explorers use a wormhole to seek a new planet for the human race.

However, with 169 minutes to kill and direction from Christopher Nolan, there’s bound to be plenty going on.

The Skeleton Twins (15) stars Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader and Luke Wilson and tells the tale of estranged twins who cheat death on the same day and decide to try to overcome their differences.

Say When (15) has a decent cast, with the likes of Keira Knightley, Chloë Grace Moretz and Sam Rockwell.

Knightley plays Megan who panics when her boyfriend proposes.

She stays at her friend’s house where her father (Rockwell) has a rather downbeat feeling about life.

Hopefully the trailer doesn’t do it justice.

The Possibilities Are Endless, (12A) stars the musician Edwyn Collins.

I make no excuse for supplying someone else’s explanation of the movie - Imagine your mind has been wiped: memories, knowledge, experiences, language - every word you ever spoke, has vanished. If eventually you found the words, what would you say? For Edwyn Collins, ‘The Possibilities Are Endless’.

If you are any wiser then you’re a better person than me.

Set Fire To The Stars (15) looks very promising.

Celyn Jones plays poet Dylan Thomas and Elijah Wood is an aspiring poet whose world is thrown upside down when he tries to help his hero.

The black and white movie looks like it could be well worth checking out.
