Released in cinemas nationwide on Tuesday December 1, the film opens Season three of the pioneering series Exhibition on Screen, created to bring world-class art closer to those unable to visit blockbuster exhibitions in person.

Goya - Visions of Flesh and Blood allows the public to enjoy the exhibition from the comfort and convenience of their local cinema.

It also makes art history accessible by explaining the latest in art historical research and providing access to renowned international experts such as Gabriele Finaldi and the exhibition’s lead curator Xavier Bray.

Shot within the National Gallery and on location in the UK, US and Spain, it builds a detailed portrait of Goya, granting exclusive access to his revealing letters and key masterpieces not included in the exhibition, such as the Italian Sketchbook and The Family of Carlos IV from the Prado.

Exhibition on Screen was created four years ago by producer Phil Grabsky in response to the lack of in-depth arts programming on television. Since then, the nine films from Seasons 1 and 2 have been seen by over 640,000 people in 40 countries.

Season 3 of Exhibition on Screen continues in 2016 with Renoir - Revered and Reviled, based on the unrivalled Renoir collection at The Barnes Foundation, Philadelphia, and Painting the Modern Garden - Monet to Matisse, based on the upcoming exhibition at the Royal Academy.
