Popular student is killed crossing A24

A TEENAGER was killed as he tried to cross a busy dual carriageway near Ashington in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Trainee chef Craig Chard (18) of Timberlea Close, Ashington, was crossing the southbound carriageway of the A24 when he was in collision with at least one car. A second car is believed to have swerved to avoid him.He suffered multiple injuries from which he died.
