THERE was disappointment for the Jones family after three members of the clan stood for election – and all lost.
Alan Jones stood in Heene, where he lost to Paul High who was returned to his seat. His wife, Janet Goldsbrough-Jones, got close in Gaisford, but narrowly lost out to deputy council leader Ann Barlow.
And in Goring, their son Merlin was beaten by the Conservatives.
Janet said: "It would have been nice to win, so we were a bit disappointed, but you never know what is going to happen."
Alan and Janet's daughter-in-law, Diane Jones, is already a councillor in Northbrook ward.
