Comedy and tragedy at Horley's Archway Theatre as film crew invade Irish village

The comedy takes place on a Hollywood film set in Ireland, with just two actors playing all 16 characters. The show enjoyed a three-year West End run in the early 2000s, winning two Olivier awards.

The Archway is also hosting the National 2017 Little Theatre Guild AGM from April 7-9 and the final performance is reserved for Little Theatre Guild delegates.

Director David Gallichan said: “A small village in County Kerry is invaded by a Hollywood film crew. Many of the villagers are employed as extras, notably Jake and Charlie, through whose eyes the action unfolds. We meet a range of characters, including Mickey, who remembers being an extra on The Quiet Man, Brother Gerard and the desperate young Sean Harkin.

“Their interaction with the film crew and Hollywood starlet Caroline Giovanni is the source of much comedy. But tragedy isn’t far away...”

The show stars Joseph Booton and David Lyon.
