The UK gets a taste of Macklemore as he tours, taking in The Hope, Brighton, on October 19.

Spokesman James Wallace said: “Macklemore holds a singular place in both the Pacific Northwest and now across the country as he emerges as a premiere national hip-hop artist with numerous career highlights to his name. A genuine lyricist and a captivating performer, Macklemore, with his DJ/production partner Ryan Lewis, have garnered critical acclaim, a devoted fan base, and a steadily-growing anticipation for their upcoming work.

“Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ music is distinct for channelling cultural moments and refreshingly self-aware testimony through candid lyricism and expertly-crafted composition. “Their work has impressed and enthused a multitude of listeners, nowhere more evident than in the populist barometer of the internet, where some of Macklemore’s songs, videos and even fan-uploaded media have over one million listens and views.”

Also coming up at The Hope, Brighton, are Spotlight Kid who release their debut album, Disaster Tourist, through Tri-Tone Records/PIAS on November 14. They play Brighton on October 20.

Spokesman James Wallace said: “Following a series of limited edition gig-only EPs and sold-out seven-inch singles, Spotlight Kid’s debut single proper, There’s A Reason Why (July 2011), was added to Radio 1’s‘In New Music We Trust playlist, and they performed at this year’s Glastonbury Festival, following support slots with The Joy Formidable and Esben and The Witch.

“Citing Hope Sandoval and Alison Goldfrapp as vocal inspiration, the band’s front woman Katty Heath has previously graced the records of Bent (notably their 2004 Aerials LP) and Mylo.”
