Arundel’s Willows Folk Club enjoy their first Showcase Special evening of 2012 on Wednesday February 1, featuring two more acts each performing a 40-minute set.

Spokesman Chris Davis said: “The first act to be featured will be superb local duo Jo & Graham, who together make up one of the Willows’ most popular resident acts.

“Both were much admired and loved for their solo floorspots at the club, and in 2008 they teamed up to form a hugely-popular and successful duo that has gone from strength to strength (including appearances at several festivals throughout the summer), showcasing beautiful vocal harmonies, great and varied material (everything from Kate Rusby to Don Williams to Buddy Holly and all points in-between!) and engaging live performances.

“The second 40-minute set of the evening belongs to great local country band Way Out West.

This great outfit have brought a diverse mix of classic acoustic country to many venues across the south, and are the resident band at the Way Out West Country Music Club in Pulborough. Since their formation in 2010 they have transformed into an electric band. However, for this performance at the Willows, the band are going back to their original acoustic roots, with acoustic guitars, vocals and mandolin.”

Entrance on Wednesday, February 1 is £2. The Willows Folk Club meets every Wednesday at 8pm in the function room of Arundel Football Club, Mill Road, Arundel, situated to the rear of the large public car park opposite Arundel Castle.
