WALKERS braved the coldest Easter for more than 40 years at the annual Festival of Sport.

Steyning Athletic Club's historic Easter Monday walking races went ahead but without its famous 15-mile event which organisers scrapped due to a lack of support and problems with health and safety.
An adult 5km road race took place in Steyning High Street followed by a 2km road run for 11 to 18-year-olds and the a 2km race walk for those aged 12 and over.
The popular junior walking races for the under-12s, and under sevens also went ahead along with toddlers races.
In the afternoon hundreds of competitors from national clubs lined up for two different time starts of the duathlon of a 7km run, a 36km cycle and a 5km run around Steyning and the surrounding villages.
