Sussex star Steffan Piolet hit a classy 139 not out to give Cuckfield a great start to their new league season.

The pitch turned out to be slow and docile with the opening Academy batsmen looking comfortable against the new ball attack. Scoring was difficult and a value was put on every run. Cuckfield were eventually rewarded for some patient bowling when Golding was lbw for 14 off the bowling of the newly returned Steffan Piolet.
