Sussex Sharks are aiming to seal their place in the quarter-finals of the Friends Life t20 tournament this evening (Tuesday July 3) when they head to the Kia Oval to take on Surrey (6.30pm start).

The Sharks are sitting top of the South Group by a point from rivals Hampshire Royals and a sixth straight win this evening would not only put them in the knockout stages but also strengthen their bid for a home quarter-final tie.

Sussex’s last outing saw them comfortably beat Kent Spitfires at The PROBIZ County Ground by 83 runs on Friday evening.

Murray Goodwin top-scored with an unbeaten 68 whilst Chris Nash (54) and Matt Prior (46) were also in fine form with the bat.

Debutant Michael Rippon then made a dream start in Sharks colours with figures of 4 for 23.

Scott Styris has missed the last two matches after dislocating his thumb against Essex Eagles but is included in the squad this evening, which remains unchanged.

The Sussex squad is as follows:

Amjad Khan

WAT Beer

BC Brown

JS Gatting

MW Goodwin

Naveed Arif Gondal

CJ Liddle

MW Machan

CD Nash

MJ Prior

MJ Rippon

SB Styris

LJ Wright

MH Yardy (capt)
