Twelvetrees and Launchbury handed Six Nations starts

Billy Twelvetrees will earn his first England cap on Saturday when he joins Joe Launchbury in the starting XV against Scotland at Twickenham.

With Manu Tuilagi out injured, former Horsham and Pulborough colt Twelvetrees gets the nod to play at centre for the Six Nations opener. Former Christ’s Hospital star Joe Launchbury of Wasps will play second row.

Gloucester star Twelvetrees will offer England another kicking option and head coach Stuart Lancaster said of his selection, announced today (Thursday): “He’s played for me before. He’s always had the passing skills and quality, now he’s added that physicality.”
