Horsham recover from slow start

editorial image

Horsham Ladies’ Squash first team recovered from a poor start to their season to enjoy a resurgent end to their year.

The side lost their first two matches against West Worthing and East Grinstead before drawing 2-2 away at Sussex University despite having only three strings due to illness and holidays, with both Terri Hainsworth and Sarah Boyle winning 3-0.

From there Horsham went from strength to strength, winning the next three matches. First they beat Corals, Linda Willmott and newcomer Emma Booker winning 3-0 and Trish Law winning 3-1. Willmott, Booker and Many Barnett all won 3-0 in a win against Chichester, before another success against Dunnings Mill with wins for Law, Barnett and Willmott. It puts Horsham joint third at the end of the first half of the season.
