Full steam ahead for Roffey against The Railway

The top two in both divisions of the Horsham & District Darts League clashed last week, as competition for places heats up.

In Division 1, The Railway hosted leaders Roffey S&SC B and despite four straight tons and a 101 checkout from John Dawes it was Roffey who came out on top with a 7-2 win.

There were 180s for the visitors’ Dan Waller and Tony Peters.

Elsewhere in the division, bottom side Kings Arms, Billingshurst were beaten 6-3 at home by The Windmill.

In Division 2, it was another top two clash, leaders Roffey S&SC C went to Kings Arms, Horsham, who avenged last week’s cup defeat by wining 5-4, aided by a Karl Lucas 180, while Roffey S&SC A had a fine 6-3 win over Rising Sun Alliance to stay in third place.

Steve Hindle’s 108 out shot was the highlight of Horsham S&CC’s visit to HFC@The Norfolk as they came away with a 5-4 win.

Roffey CC also won 5-4, at The Rising Sun, and Nick Dunn won again to remain the only player in either division to have played in and won every singles game.

Roffey S&SC B continue to top Division 1, with 62 points. Railway are 12 points back, a further 13 points clear of BBH VC A. And Roffey S&SC C are 13 points ahead of Kings Arms, Horsham in Division 2.
