Chichester’s Corporate Challenge road-race series seems to get more popular by the year – as anyone present for this year’s opening night will testify.
Around 900 athletes, aged nine upwards, took part in seven races around the city-centre streets, cheered on by large groups of family, friends and other supporters for the annual event organised by Chichester Runners.
New entrant Josh Guilmant, from Brighton, was the winner of the main A race, pipping Chichester trio James Ellis, Harry Leleu and James Baker in a close finish.
This was the first of three race nights in a series of three – the next comes on Wednesday, March 11.
You can see some of the action in our video, above – but don’t miss the Observer next Thursday (March 5) for a report, pictures and full list of finishers and their times.
