Making the journey to Oxford was a mix of both newer performers - many of who were competing for the first time - along with the more experienced club members.

With the newer performers up first they showed real promise for the future by performing some sound routines.

To make it even more impressive, Kalnicenko qualified with ease to the next round and Morton moved up a placing from the previous qualifying event, beating her previous score in the process.

Not stopping there Kalnicenko and Hauxwell then took first and second respectively in the Grade D trampoline event.

Combining these results with the previous from the first qualifying event it means that from the first two regional competitions of the year Dragonflyers have returned with a total of 12 gold, five silver and four bronze medals.

In addition to this 12 members have qualified to the next round providing them with the opportunity to compete later this month for a chance to earn a place to represent the southern region.
