Crawley & Horsham Premier League leaders Crawley Community A’s No.1 player Paul Carter lost in three straight sets 8-11/7-11/3-11 to James Wheatley.
Phil Richardson avenged this defeat by winning a five-set thriller against James.
Crawley eventually beat Foresters D 7-2 to secure their top position with John Calcutt winning all-three.
Foresters B’s Mark Collins starred in a 6-3 victory against Horsham Spinners. Winning all three, he took the scalp of Rory Scott in a five-set thriller. Matt Craig took the last three sets to a memorable first ever win against Rory.
George Hazell gained a fine win 15-13 in the fourth against Trinity’s No.1 John Robinson. George went on to win all three to help Blades to a 6-3 victory, keeping them in contention for the title.
Graham Beaney also had a fine four-set win against Tony Catt.
Foresters C followed their A and B teams with a very close 5-4 win against Blades B in a very long match.
Gary Bonner raced off to a two-game lead against Graham Carter who came back hard to win the next three games 5-11/2-11/11-7/11-8/11-5 and Michael Bridger replicated this with another five-set win against Jonny Clarke.
