SWIMMING: Federica record shows Crawley mean business

Federica Williamson broke the County record in the 200 individual medley as the Crawley Swimming Club team put their rivals on notice that they mean business.

The 2014 South East region Youth Championships were held on the weekend of May 3 at K2 and Guildford University.

With great swims throughout the weekend the Crawley swimmers can be proud of their achievements.

In the Open age group Federica Williamson stole the show with a superb swim in the 200m individual medley breaking the county record and winning a silver medal in the process.

Not to be stopped there she went on to win gold on the 50m breast stroke and silver and bronze in both the 200m breaststroke and 100m breaststroke.

Zara Williams continued her great swims in the 50m butterfly, 100m butterfly, 50m freestyle and 100m freestyle winning one silver and three bronze medals respectively.

Martin Schofield in his first regional competing at 14 years of age took silver in the 50m freestyle.

Swimmers representing Crawley: Scott Andrews, Ryan Dooley, Charlie Hopkins, George Hopkins, Martin Schofield, Josh Trout, Jon Wileman, Sophy Croydon-Kempster, Isobel Davis, Natalie Dobson, Emma Eades, Jess Emens, Daisy Marchant, Naomi Shaw, Federica Williamson and Zara Williams.

Crawley swimmers will be competing in the Regional Age Group Championships at K2 over June 14-15.
