Sussex marksmen won silver medals at a national inter-county competition.

They finished second in the lightweight sporting rifle competition.

Top shot for Sussex was Robin Brown with a very impressive 392 out of 400.

The team who became silver medallists were drawn from all parts of Sussex, with Craig Austin from Aldingbourne, Nick Harvey from Lindfield, Steve Buckley from Horsham and Robin Brown and Tim Field from Uckfield and captain Richard Woolgar from Southwick. In finishing second, the team scored 1907 out of 2000, beating Devon into third place by just a point, with Oxfordshire and Derbyshire a further 20 points behind.

Winners Essex were in unbeatable form scoring a massive 1956 from 2000.
