Crawley 24 Pulborough 17
Crawley’s Jack Scott crossed the line for the game’s first score, Fraser Thompson converting.
Crawley maintained composure from the restart and their forwards again controlled the game, setting firm foundations for the backs to attack, ending with Crawley’s James Bishop touching down in the corner and Kristian Dean scoring five minutes later.
Leading 17-0 Crawley became complacent which opened the door for Pulborough to run-in three tries and two conversions in 20 minutes.
Coby Coy led the charge and inspired the fight back as the whole team displayed real grit to sort out their defensive shape, impose their physicality, and push for the win.
Crawley were ultimately rewarded five minutes from the end with a deft chip from Thompson over Pulborough’s defence, gathered and scored by Kristian Dean and converted by Thompson.
Both teams battled for the final five minutes but Crawley ran out worthy winners.
